Tuesday, December 4th we decided to let McKay try some rice cereal. His appetite has been huge lately so I thought we'd try to fill that bottomless pit. I wasn't sure what to expect. His expression after his first bite was priceless (wouldn't you know it, the video camera battery died just before!) He liked what he tasted though and after a few bites he was smacking his lips. Between each bite his legs and arms were going a hundred miles an hour, anxious for the next bite. Needless to say, Jordan and I were loving it!
He knows something is going on... he isn't sure what but he is excited for it!
The first bite... unfortunately, me and my trusty photographer weren't on the same page and he was waiting for me to move my hand before getting McKay's face so this is just AFTER the funny face. Oh well...
Smack Smack Smack, Mmm this is good stuff!
McKay kept going cross-eyed looking at the shinny handle of the spoon. As I would get close to his mouth, his left hand would grab my pinky and keep my hand there till he was done with each bite.
Maybe from this picture you can kind of get the feeling of how much fun he had with his first rice cereal experience. The last couple of days, he has been swinging his arms up and down up and down, sometimes hitting himself on the head and then his leg. It is pretty funny but you have to watch out or you will get smacked in the face! By the way, this was BEFORE he I cleaned his face! Yeah, pretty clean eater... well at least yesterday he was. Today he was quite a mess!

Oh! Their first cereal is always so much fun! And...he is a clean eater! Ellee still loves making a mess with food!
That's so true...most of the time the camera does not do the experience justice. Rice cereal is the best...especially when they grab the spoon and the cereal gets all over everything...oh well...that's half the experience!
Ditto Brooke and Melinda! I was laughing picturing him waving his arms all over the place. I love his enthusiasm in the last picture too!
