Mid-March Jordan 'began construction' on a bed for McKay. It is part of a master plan for a set of bunk beds for the boys. Between him working nights and it being tax season (meaning we stay home on Saturday or whatever day Jordan has off... in this case Monday Morning) he was able to work on it a lot.

Shortly after this picture was taken the local safety inspector (me) demanded that he wear safety glasses and get a push stick. We'd like to keep all our fingers and eyes intact!

McKay
(thankfully) kept his distance when Jordan was using the saw. He was SO EXCITED for his new bed and very anxious to be out in the garage building his bed with Jordan.

It went together quickly and both Jordan and McKay enjoyed spending hours playing in the garage.

Jordan was thrilled to be able to use his tools and to have a good excuse to purchase some new tools.

McKay was also thrilled to use his tools. :)

I
love this!

The sanding and staining took the longest and McKay wasn't as interested in those steps. Neither was Jordan. Neither was I for that matter.
Everything in the garage had dust on it!

Pretty wood!

the bed was ready to be set up in McKay's bedroom. He was one excited little boy!

Max didn't miss much of the set-up.

Done!

Testing it out...

Success!
Jordan learned a lot on this project so hopefully when he makes the bed for Max it will go even more smoothly. Jordan had a lot of fun building the bed and is trying to decide what to build next!

I am impressed with the bed. It looks nice and very sturdy. It is a good things McKay got those tools for Christmas or the bed still would not be finished. Dad
I'm so impressed! What a handy guy you have!
Sooooooooo impressive! Way to go Jordan!
Such a cute bed, I'm jealous :) - way to go Jordan!
Awesome job on the bed Jordan! it is easy to underestimate the amount of time it takes to complete a project like that. It looks great though!
Wow!!! That looks great. I think you went into the wrong area of construction ;)
