These Days

The last couple of weeks we've had lots of pool days, bar-b-ques, park days, hikes, trips to the library, concerts in the park etc. All the normal stuff plus Jordan worked last Saturday (one of his 2 assigned days to work this year) and I've been doing a lot of taxes for the upcoming deadlines. Here are some pictures from the last few weeks, most of them just random pictures of our funny little man.

I don't know if you can tell how huge this guy is or not but we kill one probably four times a week. We always see them just as we are about to climb into bed and they are always on the wall next to the ceiling.

We were heading out the door to church and McKay came running out of his room wearing his hat and wanting help putting on his sandals. He wears a hat whenever we go out so why not to church?

He was laughing for the camera. :)

Jordan has taught McKay how to do 'nose' kisses. You are supposed to hold the cheeks of the person you are giving kisses to and rub noses. McKay holds his cheeks and rubs his nose with yours.

We love it!

Waiting for Daddy to come out of the bathroom.
He kicks the door while he stands on his head. I don't know how he comes up with some of the things he does, but he makes us laugh!

McKay loves to play in the water and has discovered that he can push a chair over to the sink and 'help' me do the dishes.

He almost completely emptied the dishpan while I wiped off and swept the floor. Can you tell his tongue is in his cheek while he pours?

Doing the dishes on Sunday.
He has to have shoes on to go outside and 'help' Daddy grill so he is wearing his sandals.

He actually does a pretty good job of getting all the bubbles off. McKay is NEVER done when the dishes are so some of the spoons and lids get a few extra rinses.

McKay decided he was ready to try the big kid slides at the park. The suggested age is 5-12. He has to do a lot of climbing and I have to help him up one of the steps that is up to his chest but he loves going fast down the slides. Over and over again. It's good exercise!

He also enjoyed watching his ball go down the slide fast. Endless fun.

This big kid slide at another park makes me nervous. The steps are quite steep and at the top he has to step over onto a platform. The park is a mini train station so you climb up the steps into a 'water tower' and the slide comes out of it.

McKay started up the steps the first time and changed his mind on the third step. He stood on the side and watched the other kids climb up for about five minutes and then he did it on his own! There was no stopping him after that.

This is what happens when McKay needs a hair cut, he got yogurt in his hair, and Daddy was cleaning him up after dinner.

Sometimes he sits on the chair and sometimes he uses it as a pillow. Jordan said he laid like this with his leg crossed for 20 minutes while watching a show.

One morning a couple of weeks ago, McKay was sitting on the potty while he watched a show. I put a paper bag in front of the potty to attempt to catch any stray 'spray'. McKay remembered and when he was getting ready to watch a show a few days later, he ran to the kitchen opened the cupboard door (only one door under the sink has a latch) and reached over to the other side of the cupboard to get a paper bag which he set in front of him while he watched the show. He is constantly amazing me with what he remembers.

Not an Arizona sunset but still pretty! McKay was quick to point out that the moon was already out. He loves the moon and can actually spell m-o-o-n. :)

We enjoyed going to a free concert in the park featuring a group who tour and sing Beatles songs. They are very authentically dressed and even have accents. A couple sitting near us were impressed with how well behaved McKay was and got a kick out of his enthusiastic clapping at the end of each song.

We've been finding a lot of bugs lately too. The most annoying are the crickets though because when they chirp insidoors they are really loud. There is one either behind or under Devin's dresser in our bedroom. They are the same color as the brick walls of our apartment so they are hard to see until they jump at you...anyway sounds like you guys keep busy...surprise.

McKay is adorable! I always love his cute smile in all your pictures. That spider? Not as adorable! :) Yikes. Why do they like to chill next to the bed? Drives me crazy.

Love the slicked back hair-do! I'm glad you're posting pictures for those of us who don't get to see near enough of you guys.
Good luck with the hike this weekend.
And call a bug guy. It's TOTALLY worth every penny!

I haven't been here for a while, and you've posted a lot! I'm sorry!
McKay is absolutely adorable. My favorite picture from this post is the one of you two from the back doing the dishes. So cute!
