We usually have our family home evening on Sunday night so I told McKay that after he finished his food and washed his hands & face, we'd have family home evening. Jordan was getting ready to go home teaching and we were sitting on the couch when we realized McKay was reaching for the FHE manual AKA 'Behold Your Little Ones' nursery manual. He had remembered what I said! McKay LOVES to have family home evening and was anxious to repeat our activity from last week, which was the first lesson about Children of God. The activity was pointing to each child in the picture and saying 'child of God' which we did at least a dozen times.
McKay loves nursery and is a favorite of the teachers. Last Sunday they said whoever 'gets' McKay will be lucky. :)

As we were leaving to go to a concert in the park Saturday night, McKay waved and said 'bye bye' to his 'Elmo' chair, which is really a spiderman chair but it is the same color as Elmo and he LOVES Elmo, so he calls it Elmo.
When we got home he excitedly waved and said 'hi moon!' and "Hi Hi Hi Hi Hi" to all the stars. We walked in the door and he said "hi' to his Elmo chair. :)

McKay thinks everyone I talk to on the phone is "papa" and he wants to talk too!

Conversation with McKay when I got him up in the morning:
McKay(pointing to the door): "dada?"
Me: No, Daddy's at work
McKay: NO!
Jordan had to work Saturday the 22nd and I think McKay felt like it was time for Daddy to be home for a couple of days. Too bad it was only Wednesday!
Another very common conversation:
McKay: Mama?! Mama?!
Me: Yes McKay?
McKay: HI!
Repeat 3 or more times.
Three sisters at the park (3, 5, & 8) invited McKay to play with them, which he LOVED. He is such a social little boy. They humored him by going up the steps and down the slide with him over and over again. When they left, they were asking their mother for a little brother.

McKay was wearing a long sleeved shirt today so when I asked him where his elbows were, he said 'uh oh!' and rolled up his sleeves so he could show me where his elbows were. After a minute, he made the connection that he could show me through his clothes.
Jordan has been working with McKay to get him to say 'pas' for his pacifier. He would always repeat it so softly Jordan would tell him to say it louder. Now, whenever he says 'pas' he says it softly then yells it. :)
McKay is constantly asking to 'see' whenever I am cooking or doing dishes. He is also constantly saying 'me'. He has to do everything himself. If I've already moved the fork, he puts it back and then he moves it. *sigh*
When I ask McKay if he needs a diaper change (when I know he does), he usually says 'clean', meaning no, his diaper is already clean and he doesn't need a change. Another *sigh*.

We were at the park for a BBQ with friends from the ward and the missionaries and McKay kept pointing at one of the missionaries and saying 'Jesus'. The Elder had a pass along card in his shirt pocket and the picture was of Jesus. Yay!

We frequently have our door open with just the security door closed. We can see out but people can't see in unless it is dark and lighting is just right. Whenever our neighbors pass our door or window, McKay yells 'Hi' to them and they say 'hi' back.
McKay says 'hi' to our floor fans and notices when they are off or on.

After dinner, McKay asked to watch 'yade' (andy). We enjoy watching Andy Griffith after dinner. He even attempted the intro theme whistle. :)
McKay gave his Elmo sticker from the doctor office kisses ('mmmmwa') today as well as his knee he scraped a couple of days ago.
McKay thinks it is his job to make sure my apron is always untied.

I told McKay we were going swimming today and he ran over to the closet to reach for his sunblock. He is tall enough he can get it down but has trouble putting it back up.

I was washing the dishes and McKay was playing with his alphabet magnets. He kept holding up a magnet and telling/asking me what it was. Sometimes he was right, other times he was close. He kept holding them up with the back side facing me so I was having a hard time seeing the letters. I asked him to 'turn it around'. So HE turned around and I watched carefully as he did to see the letter. After that, he'd hold up a letter and then turn around. It was so cute I didn't see a need to tell him what I meant.

When I get McKay up in the morning, about 75% of the time he asks where Daddy is and gets upset when I tell him he is gone to work.
McKay thinks it is so funny when I tell him we are in a hurry and likes to exaggerate moving fast to hurry. He reminds me we are in a hurry by acting like he is running fast.

McKay was 'talking' on the phone with Nanna Anna when they started singing Old McDonald. McKay wanted to sing 'more' so she did Popcorn Popping. He couldn't do the actions while he held the phone so he set the phone on the floor so he could do the actions with her, and sat down with the phone in front of him. He did ALL the actions, clapped when she finished singing and wanted to sing more.

When McKay knows it is time for Jordan to come home from work, he likes to watch for Daddy to drive up through the screen door. As soon as he sees him, he races over to the window to pull the blinds back, knock on the window and wave to him. It is so fun to watch his excitement.

Kenton laughed at this last picture of Jordan and McKay on the couch...looks like a nice (and comfortable) couch too.
