Signs

McKay is 13 months old today. Now he can sign: fish, more, want, drink, eat, and book. He also folds his arms for prayers, does the popcorn popping actions, moos like a cow (with his mouth closed), points to himself for 'McKay' and tries to mimic pretty much everything else we do!

We ran out of time in Arizona for McKay to try out the swings my Dad put up in the backyard for the grandkids, so the Sunday after we got home from Arizona, we went to the park and put McKay in the swing. He wasn't too sure of it at first but he caught on and really liked it.

Jordan stopped at a yard sale and found a bunch of Little People toys, these Legos, and a few other things a spoiled rich kid hardly used, all for $20. What a find!

That's the best!! I love yard sales like that, but we don't see them very often. So is McKay the spoiled kid now...just not rich?

Actually, all but the Legos are in a box for Christmas!

What a smart kid! I'v been trying to teach Laexin signs and he'll do them once or twice then I guess the excitment wears off because he won't do them again - little stinker.

When we moved back to Utah, I went through garage sale withdrawals (their not usually so great in Utah). I was seriously addicted to them! I considered them my part-time job, because that is how I was able to get baby gifts, b-day gifts, christmas gifts etc., without spending a part-time wage! I taught my kids sign language at that age too, and it made all the difference in the world from a frustrated child who couldn't communicate to me, and a content child who could let me know what they needed. Keep up the great work!, and happy garage saleing!

I love garage sales! They have them all over around here and all year long! I taught Dallin sign too when he was young. Since then we've really enjoyed the "Signing Times" DVDs. They are great teaching tools (and very fun to watch too).
